Народ, меня мучает любопытство.
Кто из вас с не записанным у меня местным номером 55980*** мне вчера послал смс "Катюш! Я только сейчас тебе послала мейл, извини, что так поздновато" примерно чуть позже 10 вечера? И на какой адрес вы мне этот мейл послали??? И что в нём должно быть?

Isn't Катюш the Russian version of Katherine?

Катюша is a version of Екатерина, and not my favourite one, reserved for my mother and several friends. I had been quite at a loss as to which version of my name I liked because I hated all of them until my friend called me Кася, which is kind of Polish. I've introduced myself to new acquaintances by that name ever since.

Ah, I thought your name was Agneshka :) And yep Кася would be like Kasia, the short version of Katarzyna, which always sounded really stern in my ears. But I like Катюша. It's the first song in Russian that I ever learnt.

It is the first song in Russian everybody's learnt, so I stopped liking the name version when I was about 8 :D :D
And I started choosing Agneshka as a nick for my virtual personalities when the internet entered my life, which was at university, as I am a huge fan of Chmielewska. Hope one day I'll be able to read her books in Polish!

Funny how you want to know Polish and I want to know Russian :)) How well do you know it so far? We can learn from each other! I don't think I've read anything of Chmielewska, but I'll look into her.
